API Terms of Service

1. API Access

Access to the KlirInvest API requires a valid API key issued through the Developer Portal. API keys are personal to your account and must not be shared, published, or embedded in client-side code. You are responsible for all activity under your API key. Requests may authenticate via either the X-API-Key header or an Authorization: Bearer token; both header styles are accepted.

2. Rate Limits and Usage

API usage is subject to rate limits based on your subscription tier. Exceeding rate limits may result in throttled responses (HTTP 429). Persistent abuse of rate limits may result in key revocation. Current tier limits are displayed in the Developer Portal.

3. Data Attribution

When displaying data obtained through the KlirInvest API, you must include visible attribution stating "Powered by KlirInvest" or equivalent. Embed widgets include built-in attribution that must not be removed or obscured.

4. Prohibited Uses

• Redistributing raw market data obtained through the API to third parties.
• Using API data to construct competing analytics products without written permission.
• Presenting API outputs as investment advice or regulated financial research.
• Circumventing rate limits through multiple accounts or key rotation.
• Using the API for automated trading, order execution, or signal generation.

5. Embed Widgets

Embed widgets are provided for displaying portfolio analytics on authorised domains only. Embed tokens include domain restrictions that must be respected. Widgets must not be modified, decompiled, or reverse-engineered. You must include appropriate disclaimers on any page displaying embed widgets.

6. Data Accuracy and Disclaimers

API data is provided "as is" without warranty. Market data may be delayed and is sourced from third-party providers. KlirInvest is not liable for decisions made based on API data. You must include the following disclaimer wherever API data is displayed: "Data provided by KlirInvest for informational purposes only. Not investment advice."

7. Liability Limitations

KlirInvest's total liability for claims arising from API usage is limited to the fees paid for API access in the 12 months preceding the claim. KlirInvest is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from API usage, data inaccuracies, or service interruptions.

8. Termination

We may revoke API access at any time for violations of these terms. Upon termination, you must immediately cease using the API and destroy any cached data. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of termination except in cases of serious violations.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these API Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Developer Portal and email. Continued use of the API after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
